Does anyone have molds or make their own in the unit?

Bozo the Clone. Of course he's in Bloodfin and fairly selective about who he sells to.

personally i would go with KWDesigns (OSCS), from what i have been reading his, kwdesigns, armor is the most accurate.

Brad, i hope that you get the chance to be at the highland parade tonight.

Hello Brad,

Acquiring the armor and accessories is only part of the fun. In the meantime, you can join events as a spectator or better yet, a handler. This way you get to know your fellow garrison-mates and see how the various outfits go together. Handlers keep an eye out for the uniformed members and make sure they are not uncomfortable, too crowded, dehydrated, etc and can help with photos.

We've got several events in the are in July so you should feel free to join! It would be good to meet you - I was in the same position you are less than a year ago!

feel free to make a Work In Progress (WIP) thread here and over on the detachment, so we can help you out when you have questions. keep an eye out here on the forums for armor parties and get togethers so you can come out for some fun. when you feel that you have it complete you would fill out the app on the legion web page and send your photos to the garrison GML for approval.

I didn't want to start a new thread as my subject would read something to the effect of "A Northwest Indiana guy wanting to join", so I am replying to the current thread of that name. I just spoke to a friend who is a Garrison Guard (Christopher Hunter) in your group. I have long looked at the 501st as a fun and creative outlet but felt I would be spending too much money selfishly on my self. I am now in a position to further my own personal charity outreach and it suddenly is revealed to me that the 501st is a POWERFUL force for charity. That changes things for me. I can spend the money if I am going to use it to increase my ability to contribute!!

I had always fancied having a Darth Vader or Boba Fett costume, but feel that
a) those look really hard and people are probably more critical and
b) I prefer to see multiples of characters that are multiple in the story line.

That said, I am looking over all the storm/clone trooper lines to get started. I will also be looking in the 501st site for info on selecting and building one.

I am a die hard Star Wars fan and am also researching building an RC Artoo unit. I look forward to attending some of your events as a supporter prior to getting my costume finished.

If anyone is wondering I am in Valparaiso and I work as a freelance IT consultant.

Thank you,
Karl tatgenhorst

Hi Karl! Welcome! Please don't ever feel adversely to starting a new thread. We love to have new people join us!

We have an event this Saturday in Schererville that you'd be more than welcome to attend! That way, you can meet a number of us locals (I'm in Mich City) and check out some armor in person!

If you need more info, just let me know!
