Hello everyone, I thought it was time to introduce myself. My name is Ana. I'm married to Rafn. In fact he's the reason why I got into Star Wars. I had never seen any of the movies in full up until about two years ago. I'm currently strongly considering making a Jawa, mainly because i'm only 5'1" as well as Zam Wesell. Hopefully I will be able to start putting both together very shortly.

Hello hello! Good to meet ya and welcome to Northern Darkness! We've got quite a few really awesome folks and a couple smelly dirty people... Don't mind them  As I mentioned to ur hubby, u all should come out to the get together this Saturday and meet some of us in person, eat some food, have a drink or 4 and get in some laughes. force_hound77: Lol. I consider myself lucky to have him, he's the only one to ever let me be my nerdy, fun self. Whitejob77: We're talking about trying to make the armor party. If we can make it, is there something I could bring food wise? I do most of the cooking in the house and Rafn never complains. Lol. |

Never seen that kit used but it would work. I had thought about going with the real thing, until I really thought about how much extra weight it would be. I don't really want to carry around 3-6lbs or better, for several hours during an event. Especially given that the Jawa costume is heavy/hot as it is and any extra weight would put an extra strain on my body. I'm a type 1 diabetic and I don't handle heat/cold extremely well. I thought the replica would make a good and lighter weight blaster.... |

The resin would make it way lighter. I would also try to use pvc pipe and light weight aluminum for the barrel parts. Also you can totally make a sling or holster for it to help with carrying it. When I see you guys Saturday I'll give you as much info as I can without talking your ears off. Lol |

Yeah, that's what I was thinking or sculpt/mold/cast the other pieces myself. Awesome! I'm sure we could both use the advice/tips!
